The new "Frugal-Shot" utilizes differential diameter displacement rod technology for a high degree of ratio accuracy and shot to shot repeatability. It utilizes low cost, wear compensating rod seals that have been proven to be excellent performers. The bench-top design incorporates 2 litre reservoirs but an optional drum feed system is available. The wetted sections detach easily from the drive system to allow easy service accessibility.
The new "Frugal-Shot" is fully pneumatic. The pumps are placed in-line with the actuator so there is no canting or cocking of the device so the two liquids are dispensed simultaneously into the disposable static mixer. This eliminates lead-lag and "phasing" issues common with some side by side metering pump designs.
The new "Frugal-Shot" is simply controlled with a foot pedal. The operator presses and holds the pedal until the dispensing stops. If the pedal is released at any time the dispensing stops and the pumps recharge. The speed of dispensing can be controlled and set with an air flow-control valve. The shot size is variable and can be set with a hex key. The maximum shot size per stroke in a 1:1 ratio is about 18 cc., 2:1 is about 13 cc and, 4:1 is about 11 cc. Typically, the recharge time between strokes is about a second.
The dispensing head is stainless steel. It can be rigidly mounted on stainless steel tubes or can be coupled to short hoses. It has a ¼" threaded mounting hole for fixturing. The "Frugal-Shot" is a fixed ratio machine that can be designed to accommodate most ratios from 1:1 to 10:1. Changing a ratio in the field is a matter of switching out a displacement rod, wet-cap and seals which typically takes about five minutes.
